This Saturday night bring us the finale of season 14 of The Ultimate Fighter headlined by a fight between the coaches Michael Bisping and Jason “Mayhem” Miller. Initially the UFC wanted Chael Sonnen to coach opposite Bisping but because of a suspension and licensing issues in Las Vegas he was unable to do so, which is unfortunate as although Miller has been a suitable replacement the build to a Sonnen and Bisping fight could have been one of the sports best. Why is that you may ask, both Sonnen and Bisping are two of mixed martial arts most outspoken fighters and garner a mixture of applause and animosity for such. This got me to thinking, who are MMAs most polarizing fighters, those who stir emotions in fans more than others, usually in a critical and negative way. Here’s the leading candidates in my opinion in no particular order. Feel free to leave a comment on who you think best fits the distinction or if you think I left anyone off the list. Chael Sonnen – Being as I already mentioned him this was an obvious choice and for good reason. It was only 2 years ago that Sonnen was just another name in the sport but that all changed once he was scheduled to face UFC middleweight champion Anderson Silva. Chael was a one man campaign and did a great job selling both the fight and himself. Unfortunately for Sonnen though he came closer to beating Silva than any of the champions previous opponents in the UFC in the end he lost via submission. Things got worse for Sonnen after the bout as he would be suspended for higher than normal levels of testosterone. In the meantime Chael continued his anti Silva stance and was not shy about voicing his opinion on other fighters [...]
